The Arnold Schwarzenegger Filmography Countdown

A challenge has been bestowed upon me. In an attempt to decipher what my all time favorite Arnold Schwarzenneger movie is, I am to watch and immediately post a review of each and every one of his major films. After consulting his IMDB credits, I think I can do this. I am bypassing his cameo appearances, voice acting, and bit TV roles he had in the late 70's. So here's the list, in alphabetical order:

*Batman and Robin
*Collateral Damage
Commando
Conan The Barbarian
Conan The Destroyer
End of Days
*Eraser
*Hercules In New York
*Jingle All The Way
*Junior
*Kindergarten Cop
Last Action Hero
Predator
*Pumping Iron
*Raw Deal
Red Heat
*Red Sonja
Running Man
Sixth Day
*Terminator 1
Terminator 2
*Terminator 3
Total Recall
*True Lies
*Twins

* = Not currently in my collection but accessible from Amazon.com and/or Netflix.

Recalling Andy's Barrage of Bond Reviews, I think I am going to follow similar paths. So each film will be watched in a process of elimination/last movie standing format and the corresponding reviews will be written in a standard/consistent format of topics. Although I do not really have a worst Arnold movie, the first review will be the bottom of the barrel while the final review will be crowned as my all time favorite Arnold flick.

The review format will be as follows:

· The Specs - Title, Year, Cast, Tagline, Poster, etc.
· The Review - Probably anywhere between 3-4 paragraphs.
· The Score - Yeah, I'm reviewing music from Arnold movies. Beat that, Ebert!
· The Sequence - Standout scene.
· The Body Count - A must.
· The Line - Defining catch phrase.
· The Shot - One standout still shot.
· The Extra - Random bonus tidbit.

See you at the party, Richter.

insomnia induced musical craziness

it sucks having a cold
it sucks having a cold and you cough and it gives you insomnia
even more that everything you have tried to take won't fix it

it also sucks that while in the throws of insomnia you happen to remember this band in the 90s who you thought was so awesome and saw them live twice. only you can't remember the name of the band, or the name of any of the songs.

they might have played with the meices once, around 94, 95 and maybe played with dink 95, 96.

they had a song about the creator of the shopping mall, and quite possible someone in the band wore traditional native american garb? (maybe the drummer? )

that last bit sounds odd so it may or may not be true.

but damnit for some reason i want to hear that song about shopping malls, even though i have no idea what it sounded like.

if anyone knows of this band and can decipher all of this and tell me who it is...thank you!

please, i need help...

New Feature: Livejournal cross-posting

I've set up the site to handle Livejournal cross-posting for any users who want to configure it.

To configure it:
Log into the site
Click the My Account link in the left menu
Click the Edit tab
Fill out the Livejournal Cross-Posting section of your profile. (You can configure several cool settings here)

Then when authoring Blog Posts or News Articles*, you will see an option to cross-post. Check that box, and the post will be published under the author's LiveJournal account as well.

Hope this makes it easier for some of you to get your posts to multiple audiences.

- - -
*I will be testing other Content Types later today. You may be able to cross-post Audio and Video posts soon, too.

What will you do with the extra second?

Apparently, we have an extra second tonight that is being tacked on to the end of 2008 to realign Atomic Time and Terrestrial Time. Small variances in the earth's rotation, have built up where it is now necessary to have 61 seconds in the last minute of the year. A leap second.

What are you going to do with your extra second? Don't let it go to waste. Pick something to do with it - and use your extra time wisely.

Missing Andy

I miss Andy. Not the real Andy*, but the virtual one. The one that would have told us all about the SAG awards nominations, so that we could already have firm opinions and weird stories known only by those in the know.

How am I supposed to appear to be a know-it-all if I don't have the original know-it-all giving us the inside loop?

* I miss the real Andy too, but he's probably been to Atlanta more than I have in the last two months. So that that more my fault. Is the real Andy going to be at Festivus?

Geekin' is an original film about friends united in their common passion: role-playing games. As often as they can, these social misfits whisk away to the mythical land of Tir Sidaj, where they take personas as warriors, wizards, healing witches, and one mighty gnome. But a new arrival threatens to tear it all apart. The ultimate geek weakness -- an attractive girl. After a lengthy online courtship, Morgan (Justin Morgan) and Meredith (Alexa Anderson) finally meet for the first time. But when Morgan introduces Meredith to his gamer friends, sparks fly between her and Morgan.s best friend Brown (Kermit Holden), leaving Morgan on the outside looking in. This sets off a chain of events that pits geek against geek, with their friendships, their happiness and (*gulp*) their game hanging in the balance. "Geekin'" A Saga of Love, Jealousy, and Twenty-Sided Dice.

We decided to give up on the filmmaking and form a superband, instead.

Website email problem - solved

I discovered a problem today that was causing the site to have intermittent problems sending emails.
This means that there were sometimes problems with the Private Message feature of a user's profile... and also that some new users never received their password to log into the site.

This issue has now been resolved and you have no problems receiving emails sent from the site anymore.

DigiBeer

A few of us have been tossing around the idea of working on a homebrew recipe.

The idea is to work on perfecting a recipe and have it bottled and labeled for DragonCon 2009.

Thoughts? What beer type would make the best DigiTribe DragonCon Seasonal Beer?

Wrapping the film

Well, tonight should be the final night of filming for the $1000 Feature Film.
It's been a long hard ride and as much as we had planned to document much of the process as it was happening - we managed to do the exact opposite and go radio silent for several months.

I only hope that we can make up for that now that the stress of running a weekend production isn't dominating our every thought.

To those that are coming to set tonight - I look forward to seeing you.
To our friends watching and waiting - I hope to have something to share with you soon.

So ... Comedy ... Me ... Stand-Up ... Yeah ...

To bring you all up to speed. Now when not being injured on the set of the latest digitribe short or feature* I have been performing as a stand up comic.

In Chronological Order:

My first open mic:

My First Open Mic

A little geeky & other humor:

Star Bar - 11/24/2008

"Tramp Stamp" Live @ Comedy Gold

Breaking Radio Silence

It's really hard to think of of something worthy of posting to the front page of the site, when we have gone so long without posting anything.

We've obviously been busy making the film that we spent the first half of 2008 telling everyone we were going to make. So, the logical thing would be to give everyone an update on that.

But I'm on my way out right now, and don't have the time to tell you about that ... so instead .....

how about a monkey?

[inline:funny-monkey-04.jpg]
