I saw a lighting topic, but I felt like making my own (that one didn't pertain to my question exactly)...
I'm looking for a good 3-point lighting kit. I'm shooting a film in June, and I'm looking for something that is cheap and good. I've been looking at things like this, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/2247/Tungsten_Lights_Kits.html, and I really don't know a lot about lighting. So, please... inform me :-)

Those kits look great for a starter kit.
It largely depends on how much money you are looking to spend. And what type of shots you are expecting to light most often.
Obviously, moving-outdoor shots require different lighting than your standard living room 2-shot.
What type of budget are you working with for a lighting rig?

Those are just floods, which could be good for giving you some fill light, but you won't be able to get any focused or really directed light with them. If you're planning on using them by themselves, I'd think about looking at another option. What will you be using the lights for? Do you have any other instruments you'll be using?
Honestly, you'd probably get better results with a PAR or micro-PAR for good fill light, but you'll definitely be paying a good bit more, with two micros costing somewhere in the neighborhood of that set you linked to, but without stands or any accessories. The advantage of getting a PAR, is that while it's more of an investment, you can attach barndoors to it to cut off light, and you'll get more powerful light, and it's a more focused instrument.
Something to consider if you're just looking for a decent fill light, would be to pick up some work lights from the hardware store. They're easy to find, and are pretty cheap. You can probably pick up a couple work lights that come with stands, and use either reflector disks or lighting umbrellas to diffuse and soften the light for less than the cost of the kit.
Anyways, that's my two cents on the matter, for what it's worth.
