LEADS:
Kyle: Male, mid-20’s. A young family man willing to put his life at risk in order to help a friend. Conservative and single-minded, but incredibly sincere. Driven by guilt over past decisions. Underneath his quiet demeanor is a very hard edge. Sometimes capable of being a bully. Actor must be able to distinctly and equally play the darker and lighter sides of this character.
Tabitha: Female, mid-20’s. A longtime friend and ex-lover to Kyle. Works as a business professional, but it’s a masquerade. Sharp-tongued, sarcastic, cynical. Struggles with a drug addiction. Defiant and strong demeanor, but inside she’s still a broken little girl.
Marlowe: Male, late 20’s to early 30’s. The most charming guy in the room. Physically resembles a stereotypical frat guy, but capable of extreme violence on little more than a whim. Speaks in sharp, noir-ish dialogue. The kind of guy that commands attention through sheer charisma, but maintains it through fear.
MAJOR SUPPORTING:
Becky: Female, early 20’s. Alan’s younger sister, a few years behind Kyle. More cute than beautiful, but overflowing with personality. Funny and upbeat. Serious and mature when the scene calls for it.
Margie: Female, 20’s. Marlowe’s enforcer, specializing in brute force. Body type is not as important as the attitude and physical presence. Must appear capable of winning any fight she enters. Sly and predatory in personality.
FEATURED SPEAKING ROLES:
Alan: Mid-20’s. Kyle’s best friend in high school, now drowning in a bad life and bad situation. Drunk or stoned most of the time.
Bobby: Male, 20’s. The most cataclysmically stoned guy at Marlowe’s party. Has a long, sordid backstory that he shares with any who will listen.
Jared: Male, 20’s. A raging asshole. Jared is “that guy”, obnoxious, boastful, arrogant. Likes to wager impossible tasks on easy suckers.
Mr. Campbell: Male, late 40’s to early 60’s. Alan and Becky’s father. Blue collar, no-nonsense type. Surly.
EXTRAS AND WALK-ONS:
Marlowe’s Gang (with limited one-line roles): Various thug-like members of Marlowe’s posse.
A Happy/Sleazy Couple: Initially happy and normal, but soon join in a terrible act of depravity.
Jacob the Bouncer: Bulky and tough.
Partygoers: A large assortment of guests. Some will be “cool kids”, who dress better and engage in more lewd acts. The “upstairs people” are hangers-on, trying to become a cool kid.
Blonde and Redhead: Young women being exploited for sex by Marlowe.
